Build Your Own WordPress Site – 4 part class in December

If you’ve ever wanted to build and design your own blog or website using WordPress, then this class is for you.

I will be helping students to understand the difference between using WordPress.com and having a self hosted WordPress system. Join us in December to learn how to set up the WordPress site, activate and install the theme of your choosing (there’s +2600 of them!), build custom menus, upload headers, build out content, install plugins (pick from +31,000) and use widgets. Plus WordPress security and site optimization.

Find out the tips and tricks WordPress web designers use to save time and promote websites once they are live. My team and I have been working for almost a decade on using this powerful tool and now I’m excited to share that experience with Western North Carolina. Don’t miss out on this chance to stay in control of the most crucial tool for communication; your website.

Computers are available in the lab, but students can bring their own laptops if they have them. Please bring WordPress logins if currently using the system. Click here to Register

Why WordPress?

WordPress represents over 22.5% of the internet for more reasons than just being an easy and flexible way to build great websites. WordPress offers people the opportunity to drive traffic and grow an online community without having to pay thousands of dollars to professional developers. It’s free, is open source and presents an unlimited amount of ways to construct an engaging website. Millions of people use this platform for a very, very good reason.
